Dr Abosede Ajayi - BMedSci
A2Z medical director, emergency medicine consultant and sports physician

 Dr Abosede Ajayi, the co-founder and medical director for A2Z, is responsible for the clinical governance and standards within A2Z.
After undertaking her basic medical training in London at Imperial College London in 1999, she subsequently underwent specialist medical training in both emergency medicine, sport and exercise medicine.
Now a consultant in emergency medicine at Imperial College London, she has also been appointed as chief medical officer to British Diving and British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).

She also consults for the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and is a member of the Medical Commission of the European Universities Sports Association.

Her areas of interest clinically include diagnosis and management of lower back pain, knee injuries, head injury and concussion management, dietetics and nutrition. An international speaker, she is an authority on sports trauma management and anti-doping.

Gareth Ziyambi SRP MCSP

Gareth Ziyambi
A founder member of A2Z, Gareth brings extensive clinical and management experience to his role as the lead physiotherapist working closely with the Medical Director.

Gareth trained and qualified in Zimbabwe and has worked extensively with elite and professional athletes since 1998. He has worked with a number of Zimbabwe national teams including hockey, rugby, gymnastics, cricket, Davis Cup Tennis, swimming and athletics.
Gareth moved to the UK in 2004 and went on to join the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield where he worked with a number of sports including UK Athletics, Bob Skeleton, GB Boxing, GB Diving, GB Volleyball and GB Table Tennis and GB Handball. He also worked with a number of Paralympic athletes from GB Table Tennis, UK Athletics, GB Swimming, GB Wheelchair Basketball among others.

Subsequently, Gareth worked in the North East of England in a private practice and was also regional lead physiotherapist for TASS. He was re-called to work as an independent consultant with British Diving. He is now the head physiotherapist for British Diving.

Gareth has attended 3 Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing and London), 2 All-Africa Games (South Africa, Nigeria), the Afro-Asia Games (as physiotherapist for Africa Athletics in India) as well as numerous World championships, European Championships and World Series competitions with British Diving.
Gareth's clinical interests include bio-mechanics, management of shoulder and spinal injuries, training recovery methods and the development of performance measures. With a background in computer programming, Gareth has also developed a number of clinical audit tools and most recently software integrating performance and injury monitoring.
Gareth is a keen sportsman, having represented Zimbabwe Hockey's National age-group teams as well as regional representation in Athletics on the track in the 800m. In founding A2Z, Gareth hopes to see the concepts and principles used so effectively in elite sport become normal practice for all patients visiting A2Z.

Sonia Fierro, sports therapist

Sonia trained at Active Health Group in Manchester to gain her Level 5 Advanced Diploma in sports therapy and is currently in the process of completing a Sports Therapy Master Diploma.
Sonia is an Olympic weightlifting and S&C Coach with experience in performance enhancement and injury rehabilitation. She specialises in strength sports and treats athletes and fitness enthusiasts who want to get back into activity after injury or want to get rid of chronic pain. 

She has worked with numerous weightlifting, power lifting, and cross fit athletes (she is part of the Crossfit
Meridian Regional Therapy Team and has worked at many CF UK competitions). She is also enthusiastic about gymnastics, diving and golf.

She has a deep interest for movement patterns, bio-mechanics as well as motor control development, which she uses in combination with soft tissue treatments. 
Sonia has competed in roller figure skating, track and field at national level and representing her region. In recent years, she has taken on Olympic Weightlifting where she won the 2015 London and South East Championship and qualified for the English and British Championships.

Aristeidis Anagnostou BSC, personal trainer and rehabilitation specialist

Aristeidis Anagnostou
Aris has trained as a sports scientist in Greece and  has extensive experience in personal training under his belt.

With an in-depth understanding of the physiological adaptations occurring to the human body during exercise and a passion for bio-mechanics he is well-equipped to work on injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. 

He also trains athletes, fitness fanatics of all levels and a number of celebrities. Aris enjoys teaching and to this end has tutored up and coming personal trainers.
Having trained as a Marine in the Greek Special Forces, he fully understands the importance of the multidisciplinary approach employed by A2Z Elite Health & Performance which Aris opines is similar in both the military and in elite sports.

Carmen Loizides, A2Z practice manager

Carmen manages the A2Z Practice. She is an experienced PA & Administrator with a strong background in Customer Service. Carmen strongly believes in providing an efficient and caring service with the needs of the patient foremost. 

Carmen is currently studying at Birkbeck University of London for a Masters in Psychotherapy, she is also a qualified Aerobics & Zumba instructor with a passion for Health & Fitness, she has an excellent working relationship with our clinical and administrative colleagues outside and within A2Z Elite Health & Performance.
